#OOTD Winter Wear #Giveaway via Verushka Ramsami (Spice Goddess) July 17, 2015 11:16

Durban is finally getting into winter mode and I am loving it. Ever since I can remember, I have always loved winter. There is just something romantic about winter, guess its all those books and movies that created that image in my mind. The thing about winter is that one can dress up and not be uncomfortable going out. When I returned back from London, I brought back with me several pieces from my wardrobe. This included several well cut and unusual jackets.

The jacket featured in this post is one of my favourites. It is from a plus size store in the UK, called Evans. It has a bright pink silk lining. I love the styling of this coat as it is a babydoll design. The colour grey is a perfect addition to any wardrobe. The design found on the fabric is lines in pinks and purples my favourite colour. The design is almost like a cape with a structured collar and only 3 large buttons.

I teamed up a pair of  dark blue stretch pants with the Black Jay Jay top sent to me by Captiv8. The top is long sleeve and is fitted with a V-shaped addition fabric stitched over the fitted top which hides away the tummy area. I loved wearing this top as it covered up my tummy yet gave me a great fit at the same time without the whole sack like look. This top comes in a variety of colours. A casual or smart casual look can be created using accessories.

I used a simple double strand of purple wooden beads to finish off the look and to match my coat. Melissa shoes in blue animal print complimented my pants and added a fun element to my #OOTD. And yes I am mad about animal print so it often features in my wardrobe. To complete my look, I used my cute purple Guess handbag. The bag matched my coat lines and my wooden beads.

I wore this look to the mall. It was comfy and kept me warm. Captiv8 are currently having a fantastic SALE so just pop over to their website to grab some great deals.

#OOTD with Captive8 June 29, 2015 11:54

I am by no means a Fashion Blogger , but I have my own style of dressing. I dress so that I feel comfortable in what I am wearing and look good at the same time.

Like most women, I love shopping but I don't buy designer labels and I rarely ever pay full price on an item. As a plus size girl ,it's often difficult to find clothing that doesn't make you look bigger or like a granny.

In recent months, there has been a trend in Plus Size fashion worldwide. I am so excited for this trend and glad that there are companies in South Africa doing the same.

One such company is Captive8. I first noticed this brand via Twitter. So I decided to check them out. Captive8 is a proudly local South African brand. They manufacture a range of clothing for the full figured lady. The range is stylish yet classic. From casual to formal there is something for every occasion. This range is for sizes 16-24.

The lovely folk at Captive8 sent me a few items to add to my wardrobe. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing my different looks with my twist. I will also be hosting a giveaway from Captive8 so keep a look out for that.

Durban doesn't really experience a full on winter like other parts of the country. Beautiful winter sun filled days are present with a chill in the air. My #OOTD in this post was what I wore a few weeks ago. The look is rather casual and comfy. I wore this for a day out with mum which included lunch and movies.

I teamed up my jeans with this stunning and very flattering waterfall cardigan and snood from Captive8.The cut of the cardigan gives me shape and defines my curves rather than make me look like a sack. The colour is rather versatile and can be used with just about everything. The material is a knitted jersey fabric but is lightweight which is perfect for Durban winter days. I wore a white sleeveless vest from Miladys under my jersey so I would not feel too warm. I added some colour with this rather pretty snood from Captive8 in tones of pink (my favourite colour). The snood is made from cotton knit so its very soft and warm it is also much longer in length so when twisting it one doesn't feel like they can't breathe. I really like this look for winter and have been playing around with different cardigans and scarves.

Check out for their great range and pay day specials.
